Our Obsession....Psych!!!!

First of all, we need to thank my brother, Bryant, for getting us addicted!

We have Netflix on the Wii, and decided to give Psych a try. We were hooked from episode one! There were 63 episodes (Season 1-4). And even with us both working at the time, we were able to watch all 63 in a matter of 2 to 3 weeks. It was all we thought about! We couldn't wait to get home to watch it. When we watched the last episode, it was a HUGH cliff hanger! I started researching to make sure that it wasn't the end. Season 5 had just ended and wasn't available yet! AHHHH! Well, it just came out, but not on Netflix, so I went and bought it! And season 6 starts this fall on USA!!!! I am so glad this show is still going strong and it is no surprise why! Not only is this show very funny and clever, but it is very well casted and written.

Shawn Spencer (James Roday) and Burton Guster "Gus" (Dule Hill)
What's with the pineapples you ask!?! Well, there is a pineapple in every episode, but gets harder to find! Check it out and see how many you can find! :)

Receptionist: There is a Lt. Crunch here to see you.
Burton 'Gus' Guster: Crunch?
Shawn Spencer: [enters, dressed in a Civil War uniform] Actually, I've been promoted. It's Captain Crunch.

12 Weeks!!!

So yesterday I made it to 12 weeks!!! How it's been so far? Well, I am super tired! All I want to do is sleep. I did get sick to my stomach a lot, mostly around 2 AM :( Maybe that's why I am so tired! I haven't thrown up yet, but I hardly ever do anyway. I will do anything not to throw up!  I can't eat fruit right now. Baby doesn't like it, but I want a Jamba Juice so bad! I've only had one craving so far....RAISINS! I was about 3 weeks long. And now I can't eat them!

Here's a picture of me so far....first off, the camera adds 10lbs! I don't always look so pregnant, it really depends on what I am wearing.
We can't wait to find out what we are having! ( I want to start shopping!!!)

Mixed Emotions

What a day yesterday. I had another ultrasound. (9 weeks) Baby number 1 is growing like a weed and has a strong, healthy heartbeat. Baby number 2 stopped growing and no longer has a heartbeat. Such mixed emotions. We have tried for so long to have a baby and then when we found out it was two we were so excited. And to lose one, is so hard. We have already been so attached and so happy. I saw my chiropractor later that day and had a really good conversation with him and he was very comforting. And my sister, Tricia, said that now our baby has a guardian angel. Which I will always let our baby know. Baby number one will be so spoiled and loved and we are still so happy that there is still one.

Our Story Keeps Getting Better :)

I am feeling very overwhelmed. Today I am exactly 7 weeks, and we had our first ultrasound. The first thing Dr. Blauer says is: "There's 2, what did we do!?!" All I could say is "WHAT?!" and I started to cry. That's when Aaron walked in. (I think I scared him) I told him it was twins and he just beamed!

Already they are so different from each other.

This is baby number 1. Looks like a little baby, and strong heartbeat!

This is baby number 2. Much smaller, and a smaller heartbeat, but a strong one!
I really couldn't be happier. I am still very much in shock and am aware that so much can still happen. But I have my amazing family and the gospel to get me though this. My dear cousin Jen told me this, "Heavenly Father knows what He is doing!!!! He keeps you wanting only to double gift you!"

Our Story

So, if you haven't guessed yet by the ticker, we are pregnant! Due December 27th! (Best Christmas or Birthday present ever!!!!!) It's still really, really early but we thought Mother's Day would be the perfect day to tell everyone. It's has been a long 6 1/2 years. And I haven't been strong enough to tell our story until now.
Shortly after we were married we decided to not try, but not prevent it. After a year, we started seeing different doctors. Nothing was found, Aaron checked out and I seemed to check out. We didn't have a lot of money, so we couldn't really see a specialist. But last year Aaron's works insurance started to cover fertility treatments, so as soon as we found out I found a specialist. Dr. Blauer with Reproductive Care Center. My nurse there is Liezle who started working there in December. She is the biggest blessing I have there. She is so amazing and outstanding in her job. And when I go see her, I am her number one priority. I love calling her number and have her answer. I have been so impressed with her and wouldn't have made it though without her. We started treatments last August. It started with a bunch of pills. In February/March, we stepped things up and started the IUI process. I had to give myself shots and take a lot more pills. Then Aaron would go in, and I would go in 2 hours later and they would use a catheter....well you can figure out the rest. :) The first one didn't work, and it was really hard. We had told family and close friends of the process, and it was so hard to tell them it didn't work. So we did it again on April 6th. Two weeks after I was suppose to take a pregnancy test, but I didn't want to, I was too nervous. But Aaron really wanted me to, so I did for him, because he is apart of this too. When I saw the positive I almost threw up!

I went from feeling nervous to being super excited. I called Aaron to tell him, and could only cry. I have never been so overwhelmed with emotion before. We have been so disappointed so many times before, I had a hard time believing it. So I called the doctors office, and we scheduled a blood test. I stopped by after my half day of work. On the way home, I talked myself out of it. I figured there was a mistake and that they would call and tell me it was negative. My nurse called, Liezle, and told me my levels were 150. I asked her what that meant. She laughed and said anything over 100 is a positive! We waited about a week before we told our parents and my siblings, since they were all so involved and kept asking us. But we had to tell others because we can't keep our excitement in! We know that the first 3 months are the hardest and higher chances of miscarriage, but I also have seen that there isn't a safe date. Aaron and I are so excited and can't for this new chapter in our lives! Aaron is convinced it's twins or more because of the IUI and all the fertility drugs. He also thinks it's a boy/boys because of the Sperry curse. (Every baby conceived in Utah was a boy!) I don't know how I feel. I just want a healthy baby, and really can't feel if it's one or more, or a boy or a girl. I sometimes wonder if something is wrong since I haven't had any dreams about it, and I have heard so many stories about woman knowing they are pregnant before because they had a dream. I know that is silly, but I already have pregnant brain!!!
I also want to take this time to apologize. I had a hard time saying congratulations to anyone who got pregnant or had a baby. I wouldn't go to baby showers or blessings because it was too hard for me. I am sorry I wasn't there, and not strong enough to support you. So I want to send out a huge congratulations to everyone in the past 6 1/2 years who had a baby! :)

Meet Zeus

Well we did it! We got another dog! His name is Zeus and he is a year old. He is a Maltese/Poodle mix.  These pictures where right after a bath, he has some tear stains that we can't get out. We are going to get him groomed as soon as the kennel cough has cleared up.

He is so much fun and basically the perfect dog! Unlike my other dogs, he doesn't lick a lot, he love toys, and loves to cuddle. He is already my best friend and follows me everywhere.

PS....Grandma doesn't know!

Music

I haven't been my self lately as most of you know. I rely on music to help me though things. And we are friends on facebook you know that I have been listening to the Mamma Mia soundtrack a lot! There is song on there that has really helped me and I thought I would share it with you.

SOPHIE:
I have a dream
A song to sing
To help me cope
With anything
If you see the wonder
Of a fairy tale

You can take the future
Even if you fail
I believe in angels
Something good in everything I see
I believe in angels
When I know the time is right for me
I'll cross the stream
I have a dream

COMPANY:
I have a dream
A fantasy
To help me through
Reality
And my destination
Makes it worth the while
Pushing through the darkness
Still another mile
I believe in angels
Something good in everything I see
I believe in angels
When I know the time is right for me
I'll cross the stream
I have a dream
I'll cross the stream

SOPHIE:
I have a dream
I'll cross the stream
I have a dream

Bella

Not much going on that I want to blog about. And I haven't been taking any pictures really. But I did get some of Bella over that last couple of days. She is so funny, and will find a place to lie down anywhere! Here are just a few...

In between Aaron's feet.

Kind of in her pillow :)

And my favorite...in one of Aaron's gun cases!

(Don't you love the shag carpet! One of the many reasons I can't wait to move!!!!)

2011 Goals/Plans

I have never been one for making goals and when I do, I hardly ever never follow though with them. I guess I'm just not a very motivated person. Last January, Aaron and I had family goals, all of which were "put on hold" because of the events of my Grandfather. I wasn't going to set any this year because the #1 goal just never happens. So this year we have one goal...to get a house! And we are working really hard on it!

But as for me personally I have been thinking about what I want to do this year to better myself as a person, friend, daughter, sister and most importantly as a wife. The number one thing I want to work on this is to stop using the word "if". It is very much a negative word in my vocabulary and I need to remove the negative in my life. My other 'goal' is to find a support group for couples who are going though what we are going though. To get out of my 'slump' there are several things in my life that I need to change, such as moving, but also surrounding myself with people who understand what I am going though and won't judge me for it. Another thing I am working on, is looking at other peoples blogs and facebook status less.  I love blogging and facebook, but it very much adds to my depression.

As much as I hope that 2011 is going to be the year, I need to be realistic and at the same time stay positive. (Which is really hard but something else I need to work on)

Wendover Weekend

Since I will have to work weekends for awhile, we decided to take a short trip to Wendover just to "get-a-way" without having to go too far. Not too much to do there. But we had a king-size jacuzzi suite! The jacuzzi tub was huge!!!! For the most part we didn't even need to leave to casino/hotel.

I only got two pictures of the trip and they were of the drive there. Aaron wanted me to take a picture of the man made tree. (It is the only tree around for miles!!!!)

Our friends, the Cotner's, watched our little dogs for us. I think they had a lot of fun playing with their 2 dogs and their little boy Colton. Colton was so sad when Bella left he even climbed in the kennel with her! :)

In a slump!

Sorry guys, but this is a depressing post. Because I am depressed. So, if you don't want to get depressed, or if you will get offend STOP READING NOW! My life hasn't turned out the way I'd planed for, but I guess whose does, right!?! Usually, I love my birthday, but this year it was just a day to remind me I am another year older without what I really want. I am told over and over again that there is still time and that I am still young. But the older I get, the more I worry and the more depressed I become. And my living situation isn't helping me at all. We have no room, no privacy and someone who is trying to be our mother. I am normally a very positive person, however living with someone who is negative all the time, really gets to me and is adding very much to my depression. Yet when I talk about moving by the end of this summer I get grief from members of my family and I feel that it's because then they would have to help out more and they don't want to. In order for me to get out of this depression, I need to do what is best for me and not worry about what others think. How is getting our own home a bad thing?! We have put our life on hold and sacrificed a lot to move in here and take care of my Grandma. And I can't do it anymore! I'm sorry, but I just can't for my own sake. I want a good relationship with my Grandma, the way it use to be, but I can't have that living here. I didn't write this to offend anyone, but I did warn you. I don't want sympathy or advise, I just needed to vent and get my feelings out.

New Year and New Toy!!!

We had a very mellow New Years, since it was snowing so bad all day New Year's Eve, we decided to stay home and play Mario Kart!

Now my new toy! Aaron hates shopping for me and since my brithday is coming up, I told him I wanted a new computer and that I would go get it with him so he would be off the hook! I LOVE IT!!! It is an hp all in one, touch screen! I didn't realize how much I was missing out on in the blogging world! (And the internet world all together!)

Sorry about all the crap in the backround! I was also eating soup!!! :)

Merry Chirstmas

It's hard to believe another Christmas has come and gone! This year it didn't really feel like Christmas. I don't know if it was because our family had such a hard year, or if it's because I could decorate. We did go buy a little tree and once the presents started going under it, it didn't look so sad.

Christmas Eve, we went to a movie with the family, we saw Tangled, and we love it! It was the second time Aaron and I saw it, and we would go again and again! Then we went to mom's and did our Christmas Eve traditions. Then all the siblings headed over to Bryant and Elisha's to spend the night. But not much sleep happened. Again this year, the "in-laws" were first to fall asleep!

Christmas Morning, we went back to Mom and Dad's to open up our presents. We were able to spoil everyone this year and we had so much fun watching them open their gifts!

We surprised Bryant and Elisha and got them a Wii! Bryant screamed like a girl, he was so excited and surprised!

Dad painted this for Aaron. It was a picture Aaron took on his mission in North Carolina, after a second hurricane in a row. We love it!!!

Nanny sent us each a pair of these awesome Canadian mittens. They are so warm!!! And when you put them together, you make a full maple leaf!

I think for the first time ever, I am glad that Christmas is over. But I sure love spending time with my wonderful family!!!

This year's Christmas Letter

If you didn't get a Christmas letter this year, it's becasue I don't have your address :) So here is what we sent out this year :)

Merry Christmas
from the Sperry's

What a year 2010 has been for us! Full of challenges, changes and adventures.
In July, we moved into my Grandparents house to take care of them. Run their errands, cleaning, some cooking and just be here in case something happens.
In August, I won Brad Paisley tickets from a local radio station! It was so exciting, I never win anything!!! I had no idea that winning qualified me to win a fly-away trip to Nashville, TN to see Reba and George Strait. Well, I won that too!!! So it was a quick trip, but Aaron and I had so much fun! We ate some of the best food in the world, did some site seeing, saw an amazing concert and got soaking wet in a southern rain storm!
In September, our Jeep's engine blew, so it was time for a new car. Because I have been driving my Grandparents Toyota, Highlander we decided to check out what else Toyota had to offer. We got a 2009 Toyota Corolla and we love it!
In October we started taking an oil painting class with my family. It was originally just going to be me, my Mom and Tricia, but it ended up being the whole family! We are having so much fun learning a new talent!
In November, Grandpa got really sick and passed away. This was the first of my four Grandparents to pass away. I've never had to deal with losing someone before and it is completely a new experience for me. But I am so grateful for the family I have and the knowledge that we will all be together forever.

Aaron: Has now been with Frito Lay for 3 years and finally has his own route. It's a lot of hours and a little bit of a pay cut, but it is really good for his career. He went deer hunting this year with both his family and mine. He came home with a huge 4 point and was so excited. There's nothing Aaron loves more then hunting, camping and fishing...well except ME!

Charlene: I got a job at eBay and is still in training. So far, loving it, but hating the commute! I went on a scrapbook get-away with Mom and Tricia in Park City this year and we had so much fun! I am working on Aaron's mission album. I haven't been able to craft as much as before, but I do find ways to squeeze some in.

We hope that 2010 treated you all well, and that 2011 will be even better! We are grateful for each of you and hope for only the best. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

To keep up on us all year check out our blog: www.thesperryblog.blogspot.com

PS...All three dogs are doing great and loving Grandma's yard!!!

One of my favorite songs...

I love Christmas music! Nothing gets me in the spirit fast! "The best way to spread Christmas cheer, is singing loud for all to hear!" But there are so many really good Christmas songs that go under the radar. Here is one of my favorites. It is on Rosie O'Donnell's second Christmas CD and sung by one of my favorites, Jewel.

"Face Of Love"

until tonight

my heart was just half full

I'd never known the fruit which fed the soul

but now i see what may put to rest my longing

for i have seen, the face of love

the grace of god, the face of love

in silence i feared my heart

would remain words unheard

inside a separateness of skin

but now i know that the skin just veils the soul

for i have seen, the face of love

the grace of god, the face of love

so take my hand and knowing

with it i also give my heart

wanting never to be separate again

let eternity begin

if you were flame

I'd allow myself to be consumed completely

were you wind i would wish you pass through me

but now i know that the skin just veils the soul

for i have seen, the face of love

the grace of god, the face of love

This song has new meaning to me this year. I have really been missing my Grandpa, and when I am driving home at 11:30 each night, I sing with him. This is one of "our" favorites. Right before he passed away, he asked me to keep singing and now I feel that I should be working on that talent again.

Turkey Day 2010

We had a very busy Thanksgiving this year! Aaron had to work a little bit, but was home by 10:30. So we went to see MegaMind with my siblings and Bryant's in-laws. They put us in the wrong theatre, so we all got free movie passes!  Then Aaron and I went to the Sperry's for Thanksgiving "lunch". I forgot the camera :( We had fun playing with ours nieces and nephews! But we'll definitley need to see the chiropractor on Monday! Once we left there, we ran home and got Grandma and brought her to my Mom's for Thanksgiving dinner. WE ATE SO MUCH TODAY!!!!

Here are some pictures of the evening.
